CPR-IC has proven problematic to practitioners attending out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) as patients hinder resuscitative efforts through a range of actions. Patients have withdrawn from compressions, removed airway devices, presented with combativeness and agitation, and physically obstructed rescuers by pushing or grabbing at them (Doan et al, 2020).
